About Chengdu
Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan Province, China, which is known as the "Heavenly State" (Tian Fu Zhi Guo). Being the natural habitat of cute giant pandas, Chengdu is located in the west of Sichuan Basin and in the center of Chengdu Plain. It covers a total area of 12.3 thousand square kilometers (4,749 square miles) with a population of over 11 million.
Benefiting from Dujiangyan Irrigation Project which was constructed in 256 B.C., Sichuan Province is reputed as "Tian Fu Zhi Guo", literally a place richly endowed with natural resources. Chengdu, as the capital, is extremely productive. The Min and Tuo Rivers, two branches of the Yangtze River, connected to forty other rivers, supply an irrigation area of more than 700 square kilometers (270.27 square miles) with 150-180 million kilowatts of water. Consisting of abundant mineral resources, the land is extremely fertile.

Mountain Qingcheng
Mountain Qingcheng is one of the birthplaces of Taoism, so it is a famous Taoism mountain. Mountain Qingcheng is located in southwest of Dujiangyan, Sichuan Province; it is called “Mountain Zhangren” in ancient times. It is about 68 kilometers from Chengdu, and 10 kilometers from Dujiangyan Water Conservancy Project. The main peak, Laoxiaoding, is 1260 meters above sea level.
Mountain Qingcheng could be divided into two parts, the former mountain and the back mountain. The former mountain is the main part of Qingcheng scenic spot with an area of about 15 square kilometers. It has beautiful landscape, rich historical sites and cultural relics. The main scenic spot in the former mountain are as following: Jianfu Palace, Tianshi Cave, Chaoyang Cave, Zushi Palace, Shangqing Palace and so on. The back mountain is about 100 square kilometers with clean water, serene forest, and grand hills. In 2000, Mountain Qingcheng is listed into UNESCO’s World Culture Heritage catalogue along with Dujiangyan.
